Community guidelines
This is a place for people living with Lyme and co-infections to support each other. A few simple rules keep it safe and useful.
1. Be kind
Everyone here is dealing with something hard. Disagree with ideas, never with people. No insults, mocking, or "it's all in your head." Many members have heard that enough already.
2. Share experiences, not instructions
"Here's what worked for me" is great. "You should stop your medication" is not. Nobody here can see your full medical picture, so treatment decisions belong with your clinician.
3. No selling or self-promotion
No selling products, services or courses, no referral or affiliate links, and no recruiting for paid programs. New members can post links after a few approved posts, and affiliate tags are removed automatically.
4. Protect your privacy
Posts are public. Use a nickname, and don't share your full name, address, phone number or other people's private information.
5. Respect different paths
People here use antibiotics, herbs, both, or neither. Every approach in this community is respected. Lab results and studies are welcome. Dismissing someone's choices isn't.
6. Look out for each other
If someone seems to be in crisis, reply with kindness and use Report → Someone may be in crisis so a moderator can check in. In the US, anyone can call or text 988 for free, 24/7 support.
7. Zero tolerance for abuse
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users, in public posts and in private messages. That includes harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, scams and asking members for money. You can report any post or message, and block any member so you no longer see their posts or receive their messages.
How moderation works
- New members' first 2 posts are reviewed before they appear. This keeps out spam.
- Anyone can report a post. Moderators may hide or edit posts that break these rules.
- Repeated or serious violations, including spam, harassment or selling, lead to a ban.
Not medical advice
Everything posted here is personal experience and opinion. It is not medical advice and doesn't replace care from a qualified clinician.
Having a really hard time? You're not alone. In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741. Outside the US, find a helpline at findahelpline.com.
