Introducing myself and the website...

Topic: Introductions

Hi everyone, and welcome to Curing Lyme.

I got Lyme many years ago and had no idea that's what it was. After endless hours researching online, I asked my doctor to test me for it. They were reluctant, but they ran the test, and sure enough, my Western Blot came back positive.

Over the years I tried a lot of treatments. Finding information online, figuring out the different protocols, and getting advice from other people who had been through it made all the difference in getting me healthy. That information was scattered all over the place, though: books, clinic websites, forums and research papers. I come from a computer background, and for a long time I'd wanted to build one place that pulls it all together. I finally did it.

Here's what you'll find:

• Protocols: antibiotic, herbal and persister protocols laid out the same way, with typical doses, key points and the original source, so you can compare them side by side.
• Research library: studies summarized in plain English, with links to the original papers.
• Supplements & herbs: what each one is used for, typical doses, cautions, and which protocols use it.
• Tick testing: how to save and send in a tick, plus free state programs and paid labs.
• Start Here: answers to the most common questions if you're new to chronic Lyme.
• Search: one search box covers everything, including community discussions.

And the community, which is the part I'm most excited about:

• Every protocol, study, supplement and tick lab has its own discussion. Look for the Discuss link near the top of the page.
• On a protocol page, tap "I'm on this" to add it to your profile and connect with others going through the same thing. Share your progress, compare notes on side effects, or ask questions.
• Mark replies as helpful, and pick the best answer on questions you ask.
• Send private messages, and get notified when someone replies to you.

A few honest notes:

• I'm not a doctor, and nothing here is medical advice. Please work with a Lyme-literate clinician before starting or changing any treatment.
• To keep spam out, a new member's first couple of posts are reviewed before they appear. I'll be moderating to start.
• Some supplement links go to Amazon through an affiliate account. That helps cover the cost of running the site and never decides what gets included.

This site is brand new, and I'd love your help making it better. If you spot a mistake, an outdated dose, or a protocol or resource that's missing, let me know here.

I hope this site helps you. Feel free to reply and introduce yourself: what you're dealing with, where you are in your journey, or what's helped you so far.
